- Scheme covers 352 lakh people from 1.08 crore families, enabling cashless treatment at 29,000+ hospitals nationwide.
- Seniors aged 70+ eligible regardless of income; 1,400+ PHCs to join launch virtually.
Khultabad to be Renamed ‘Ratnapur’ by Maharashtra Govt
- Maharashtra will rename Khultabad to ‘Ratnapur’, reviving its pre-Mughal name as part of efforts to reclaim cultural heritage; it houses Aurangzeb’s tomb.
- Minister Sanjay Shirsat said the move aligns with past renamings like Aurangabad to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Osmanabad to Dharashiv.
- The govt plans to build memorials for Shivaji and Sambhaji Maharaj to highlight Maratha valour.
Juspay Set to Become First Unicorn of 2025

Chhattisgarh Begins First Semiconductor Unit in Nava Raipur
- CM Vishnu Deo Sai laid the foundation stone for Chhattisgarh’s first semiconductor plant in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar.
- The plant, spread across 1,50,000 sq ft, will be developed by Chennai-based Polymatech Electronics, focusing on tech-driven growth.
- The CM aims to transform Nava Raipur into the Silicon Valley of the state, enhancing its electronics and semiconductor ecosystem.
Kerala, Tamil Nadu to Jointly Survey Nilgiri Tahr Population
- Kerala and Tamil Nadu will jointly conduct a Nilgiri Tahr census from April 24–27, across 265 census blocks to mark 50 years of Eravikulam National Park.
- The census will use camera traps & pellet sample analysis to study genetic variation, with 1,300+ personnel and the ‘bounded count’ method.
- Nilgiri Tahr, a vulnerable species endemic to Western Ghats, is found in high-altitude forest zones.
National Critical Mineral Mission Launched to Boost Clean Energy
- The National Critical Mineral Mission (NCMM), launched in 2025, aims to ensure self-reliance in critical minerals for clean energy, targeting 1,200 exploration projects and 100 mineral block auctions by 2030.
- The mission covers solar, wind, EV, and energy storage sectors, securing key minerals like lithium, cobalt, and rare earths, while promoting domestic and foreign sourcing.
STREE Summit 2025 to Empower Women in Hyderabad
- Hyderabad City Security Council (HCSC) will host the second STREE Summit on April 15, focusing on women’s safety, empowerment, and equality.
- The event includes participation from lawyers, journalists & health experts offering practical solutions.

Researchers have found evidence of plate tectonics during Hadean eon
- About:
- Refers to the 1st crust formed on Earth during Hedean eon.
- When the volcanic eruptions calmed and magma cooled, Protean Crust was formed
- Till now, this was considered a time when tectonic plates hadn’t formed
- But, new research suggests plate tectonics to be present during that eon as well
- Hadean Eon:
- 4,540 – 4,000 million years ago
- Represents time before a fossil record of life

- Leo Beenhakker, former coach of Real Madrid and the Netherlands, has died at age 82, as confirmed by LaLiga club Real Madrid.
