- Air Marshal Narmdeshwar Tiwari took charge as the Vice Chief of the Air Staff, IAF.
- The Air Marshal completed his schooling at Rashtriya Indian Military College in Dehradun before joining the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasala.
- He passed out from NDA in Jun 1985 with the President’s Gold Medal. He was commissioned as a Fighter Pilot in the Indian Air Force on 07 Jun 1986.
RRBs’ share in GDP to rise to 5.2% by FY30 from 3.7% in FY24: PwC
- India’s Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) are expected to contribute 5.2% of GDP by FY30, up from 3.7% in FY24, post-recent consolidation.
- This growth is aligned with India’s vision of becoming a USD 30 trillion economy by 2047.
- The Department of Financial Services has amalgamated 26 RRBs under the ‘One State One RRB’ initiative.
- The RRBs, with 22,000+ branches, primarily operate in rural areas.
Seven Global firms sign MoUs with Indian Institute of Creative Tech.
- India aims for global leadership in media and entertainment, with support from top firms like Google, Meta, and Microsoft

ITBP creates history with first-ever CAPF ascent of Mt. Makalu
- The Indo-Tibetan Border Police successfully scaled Mt. Makalu, the world’s fifth-highest peak.
- The 12-member expedition, part of a dual-peak mission, reached the summit with an 83% success rate.
- ITBP also advanced the “Clean Himalaya – Save Glacier” campaign, collecting 150 kg of waste from high-altitude camps.
- ITBP has now conquered six of the world’s 14 eight-thousanders.
Report on “Enhancing Competitiveness of MSMEs in India
- The report outlines systemic reforms to address, skilling, and innovation gaps hampering MSMEs’ growth.
- One of the important findings of the report is the notable improvement in MSMEs’ access to formal credit.
- Between 2020 and 2024, the share of micro and small enterprises accessing credit through scheduled banks rose from 14% to 20%, while medium enterprises saw an increase from 4% to 9%.
India suspends Inbound Mail from Pakistan After Pahalgam Terror Attack
- India has suspended the exchange of all categories of inbound mail and parcels from Pakistan in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack.
- India has banned direct or indirect imports from Pakistan with immediate effect.
- The DGFT said in a notification that direct or indirect import or transit of all goods originating in or exported from Pakistan shall be prohibited with immediate effect.
